RIGHT:  The oldest known record is a fresco found in Pompeii illustrating the arming of Roman centurions with SKS's.  The practice was quashed due to liberal outcries of unfair battlefield practices.  Coincidentally, the Roman Empire fell shortly thereafter.  Another little known fact; before Simonov went career military, he was an Archeology major in Leningrad.  Another coincidence?  I think not...

OVERVIEW:  This site is admittedly a customization heavy site.  So in an attempt to better balance my representation of this rifle, I've been writing more and more pages about the rich history of this carbine.  My biggest hesitation in doing this is that others have presented this information repeatedly, and in most cases, better than what I can do.  These pages are an attempt to bring you unique insights to the SKS that can't be found elsewhere.
